Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga kick-starts the celebration of Solo Parent Week (April 17-21, 2023) by recognizing the role and significance of the Solo Parent employees in the Agency during the Office’s Monday Convocation.
The resilient solo parent employees were awarded with a certificate of Recognition headed by Assistant Regional Director for Operations (ARDO) Jean Paul S. Parajes with the Regional Management Committee.
As part of the celebration, Senator Risa Hontiveros who introduced the Expanded Solo Parent Welfare Act, through a recorded video, deemed the law as a triumph for every solo parent. Furthermore, she emphasized her trust in DSWD and partner agencies for the law’s efficient implementation.
As Meg Lowery once said, “Being a solo parent is not a life full of struggles; but a journey for the strong.” DSWD joins in acknowledging and celebrating each one of the Agency’s solo parents.
