In accordance with Republic Act 10868 also known as the Centenarians Act of 2016, DSWD Field Office Caraga awards Lolo Clementino S. Alico of Tagbina, Surigao del Sur, Php100,000.00 to honor his century’s worth contribution to the community, May 11, 2023.

Tatay Menting, as he is commonly called, was the first Barangay Captain of Barangay Malixi, Tagbina, and is a proud Tagbinanhon who has contributed to the progress and seen the developments of the municipality through the years.

According to his son, Mamerto Alico, his father has a positive disposition in life and is a giver, and generous to his family and constituents, that aside from eating healthy, is probably the reason for long life. Amazingly, Tatay Menting can still walk, talk, and crack jokes.

Sagbot ra gyud ginakaon anang Papa, pero malipayon gyud na siya, siguro mao na (My father only eats vegetables but he is a joyful person, maybe that’s the reason [of his long life]),” Mamerto told DSWD Caraga.

Together with DSWD Caraga is the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tagbina

headed by Municipal Mayor Hon. Glaiza Jane P. Lanete who earnestly expressed her gratitude to the Agency for its efforts in the implementation of the law and in delivering the cash gift.
