BUTUAN CITY- Ensuring the proper storing and management of documents in the workplace, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga through the Technical Assistance and Resource Augmentation (TARA) Unit conducted the Training on Records Management on July 27-28, 2023 respectively at Grand Palace Hotel this city.

Regional Director Mari-Flor A. Dollaga is delighted to welcome all participants of the 2-day Training on Records Management at Grand Palace Hotel, Butuan City.

The recent training, which was attended by the Local Social Welfare and Development Officers (LSWDOs) from the different cities/municipalities in the region, and the Regional Technical Assistance and Monitoring Team (RTAMT) members, and selected DSWD staff, served the 2nd batch of attendees (batch 1 was conducted on April 24-25, 2023).

During her welcome message, Field Office Director Mari-Flor A. Dollaga extended her warmest welcome to all participants who attended the 2-day training. She hoped that the activity would improve and capacitate the LSWDOs in managing records systematically.

“We extend our warmest welcome and sincere gratitude to all of you for your continued commitment and dedication to serving our communities. As devotees in social welfare, let us make the most out of these opportunities to learn, to grow, and improve our services. Ipinagdasal ko talaga (I pray) that this will not only enhance your professional competencies but also ensure the transfer of learnings to your respective offices,’’ Director Dollaga said.

Participants share their ideas and learnings during the 2nd day of the Records Management and Inventory Workshop.

The objectives of  the training to make the participants understand the importance of effective and efficient records management; provide knowledge to the participants on how to protect and retrieve records; and to come up with a systematic method in establishing and retaining schedules of inventory.

The activity is also part of the technical assistance provided by the Department to LSWDOs as this has become the identified gaps based on the 2022 Service Delivery Capacity Assessment. ###(Social Marketing Section/DSWD Field Office Caraga).
