The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga has successfully conducted the 2023 Regional Legislators Forum via virtual platform on September 14, 2023 at DSWD Conference Hall, Butuan City.
The Legislators Forum is a pivotal platform that gathers experts, policymakers, and stakeholders to deliberate on important legislative matters. This is a perfect venue for the agency to provide updates on the implementation of its programs and services, accomplishments, and initiatives.
Assistant Regional Director for Administration (ARDA) Ramil Taculod welcomed all the participants through his opening message.
“It is truly an honor to welcome you all to this Legislators Forum for the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s programs and services. This forum is an invaluable platform of collaboration and dialogue between DSWD and our esteemed lawmakers who work tirelessly to provide essential social services to our fellow citizens. This serves as a testament to our collective commitment to addressing the pressing needs of our fellow citizens, particularly those who are most vulnerable and in need of support,’’ said Taculod.
Undersecretary for Legislative Affairs Fatima Aliah Dimaporo presented the DSWD’s Priority Legislation in the 19th Congress. She also explained a proposed policy highlighting the Social Welfare and Development Agencies (SWDAs) and Community Driven Development (CDD) Bill.
During his message of support, 1st District Representative Francisco Jose Matugas of Surigao del Norte supports the budget allocation for DSWD in 2024.
“Mabuhay kamo ug padayon ang inyong bagtik nga serbisyo. Suportado kamo namu ilabina sa inyong budget dinhi sa kongreso alang sa 2024. (Long live DSWD and continue your prompt service. I will support your budget in 2024 here in the congress).’’ said Matugas.
In her closing message, Regional Director Mari-Flor Dollaga assured that putting the needs of others will be the priority of the Field Office.
“We will always be grateful and appreciative of our partners, kayo po yan mga congressmen. You continued to inspire us to do more especially for the welfare of the people. Makakaasa po kayo na mananatili niyo po kaming partners para sa ikabubuti ng lahat ng Caraganons.
