The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga won 3rd place in the recently concluded National Quiz Bee of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) held on October 5, 2023 at the Century Park Hotel in Malate, Manila.

Representing the Caraga Region, Statistician 1 Jerard Matildo of the Policy Development and Planning Section (PDPS) displayed an impressive grasp of statistical theories and methodologies during the competition.

The competition covers the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics, Republic Act 10625, or the Reorganizing and Strengthening the Philippines Statistical System, Republic Act 11055, otherwise known as the Philippine Identification System Act, and Republic Act 11315, or the Community-Based Monitoring System Act.

As part of the National Statistics Month Celebration this year, a regional and national quiz bee were organized to test the knowledge and expertise of the participating government agencies. This competition serves as a platform to showcase their understanding of statistical concepts.
