Simulation on the evacuation of fishing assets which was assessed by the DSWD.

Simulation Exercises for the Building on Social Protection for Anticipatory Action and Response in Emergencies and Disasters (B-SPARED) transpired today in Bacuag, Surigao del Norte, September 29, 2023.

 

A series of simulation activities took place, such as the activation of cash transfer and the evacuation of fishing assets, livestock, and residents, which were participated in by the identified beneficiaries in the said municipality.

Simulation activity forms part of disaster risk reduction and emergency management strategies, which aim to save lives, protect properties, and strengthen the overall resilience of communities in times of emergencies and disasters.

 

Hosted by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), together with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bacuag, the team concluded the simulation exercise with an evaluation and assessment to ensure the effectiveness and efficacy of the program process.
