The Regional Committee for the Welfare of Children (RCWC), headed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, commences the celebration of the 31st National Children Month – November 6, 2023.

Due to the findings of the online survey targeting children and the 2023 National Children’s Month – Children’s Broadcasting Service (NCM-CBS) event, this year, NCM centers its attention on the theme “Healthy, nourished, sheltered: Ensuring the right to life for all,” with a particular focus on healthcare and nutrition. This theme, shaped by the pressing issues arising from the COVID-19 pandemic and the rapid increase in inflation, has led to soaring prices of essential goods and services, affecting children and the general public alike.

In her welcome message, DSWD FO Caraga Protective Services Division (PSD) Chief Jessie Catherine B. Aranas emphasized the unwavering efforts to continue the mission of the committee, “RCWC will take this month as an opportunity to gradually its vision not only the Ambisyon 2040 but the commitment to attain the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and to leave no one behind, to recognize the importance of all individuals in all the sectors of society, and to participate in improving the state of health care and nutrition – our continues challenge as duty bearers and service providers to not just give our children voices but our willingness to incessantly and proactively listen to their voices.”
