The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga’s workforce ignites candlelight to honor and remember those who have lost their lives to AIDS and show solidarity with people living with HIV/AIDS, December 1, 2023.
This year’s World Aids Day 2023 with the theme “Empowering Communities to Lead in the HIV and AIDS Response”. With this, the Field Office leads the advocacy and works to encourage sectors to help break stigma with kindness, love, and respect through informing, understanding, and empowering each member of society.
To further the advocacy in ending the stigma against HIV (human immunodeficiency virus), the Agency conducted an HIV 101 and Free HIV Screening and Testing at DSWD Field Office Caraga Covered Court and Counseling Room.
The Agency invited the Youth Members from the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Butuan City and staff from the DSWD Field Office Caraga to participate in the said activity, hoping to increase the level of awareness and pass it forward to their communities.
DSWD Field Office Caraga extends utmost gratitude to partners from the Butuan City Health Office and Palliative and Wellness Care Center, Butuan Medical Center, administered the tests.
