BUTUAN CITY – Program participants and beneficiaries, partner-stakeholders, and staff of the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of the DSWD Field Office Caraga convened for the Pag-Ila 2023: Pagkilala sa mga Natatanging Kalahok at Kasapi ng SLP at Dottie’s Place Hotel, Butuan City, on December 20, 2023.

The activity is an annual program event that primarily aims to acknowledge the wins and gains of the program, commend the partnership and commitment of the various stakeholders to SLP, and recognize the efforts of the program staff. For 2023, SLP also included the recognition of SLP associations and individual beneficiaries whose livelihood projects were thriving.

Regional Director Mari-Flor Dollaga, together with OIC-Assistant Regional Director for Operations Jean Paul Parajes and Assistant Regional Director for Administration Tristan Telen, graced the event and personally handed the awards and recognition to beneficiaries, partners, and staff.

Director Dollaga praised the program’s workforce in her message for doing their jobs vigorously and ensuring swift service delivery, especially during disasters. She also emphasized the need to strengthen the program’s advocacy efforts and highlight the program participants’ hope and change stories.

In the morning, DSWD-SLP handed the “Gawad Ani” to associations served by the program through its different project portfolios for being the most outstanding recipients in their chosen commodity, such as Serbis at Libot, Market, Transform, and Lupa ATBP. The program also awarded the most outstanding Livelihood Assistance Grant recipients the same award.

Serbis at Libot (Group Awards) Category

  • GAWAD ANI: First Place – Simbalan Rubber Farners Association, Inc (Coffee Shop Establishment)/Buenavista, Agusan del Norte
  • Second Place – Madrelino Women’s Organization/Cortes, Surigao del Sur

Transform (Group Awards) Category

  • GAWAD ANI: First Place – Consolacion Agri-Fisheries SLP Association (Bottled Bangus Production)/Dapa, Surigao del Norte
  • Second Place – Sison Tart Production SLP Association (Tart Production)/Sison, Surigao del Norte

Lupa ATBP (Group Awards) Category

  • GAWAD ANI: First Place – Anunang Fisherfolks SLP Association (Bangus Production)/Barobo, Surigao del Sur

On top of the program participants, the program also recognized partners from the public and private sectors and gave the Kabalikat Award and certificates of recognition.

Partners from the Armed Forces of the Philippines 60th and 23rd Infantry Battalion receive the Kalablikat Award for being one of the most outstanding partners under the public sector of the DSWD-SLP for 2023.

A signing of the memorandum of understanding between the DSWD and partner private banks, namely Enterprise Bank, Mindanao Cooperative Consolidated Bank, First Consolidated Bank, and Cantilan Bank, Inc., also took place during the ceremony. The memorandum aims to strengthen the ties of the Field Office with the banks to ensure that the program participants will have easier access and more convenient transactions in managing their funds, especially during project turnovers.
