Member-Agencies of the Regional Disaster Response Committee (RDRC) convened on January 23, 2024, for the RDRC Year-End Summit at MSC, Imadejas, Butuan City, which was facilitated by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga.

The summit kicked off with an assessment workshop, guiding the participants in determining what to continue, stop, and start, paving the way for the RDRC 2024 strategic planning, which then led to agreements among participating agencies for a more effective disaster response, resource sharing, and the establishment of a unified approach to handling emergencies.

Moreover, as part of the summit, the participants engaged in expressive arts facilitated by Social Welfare Officer III and the Home for Girls Center Head, Marissa Garay. The activity not only served as a creative outlet but also emphasized the importance of empathy and understanding in disaster efforts.

In tandem with creative exploration, Project Development Officer III Julieto Ompad led the knowledge-sharing session centered around the Building on Social Protection for Anticipatory Action in Response to Emergencies and Disasters (B-SPARED), emphasizing social protection measures in anticipating and responding to emergencies.

The summit culminated with the exchanging of gifts, which played an important part in reinforcing the spirit of camaraderie. With shared insights, agreements, and collaborative efforts, it will undeniably contribute to a more resilient and responsive regional disaster response committee, ensuring the safety and well-being of the Caraga community during disasters.
