The KALAHI-CIDSS Regional Program Management Office (RPMO) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga secured the number one ranking in the Overall Performance Category for the KALAHI-CIDSS implementation for 2023. This achievement was announced during the FY 2024 First Consultation Meeting with the RPMOs organized by the KALAHI-CIDSS National Program Management Office held on February 8, 2024.

The recognition stems from Field Office Caraga’s exceptional performance in implementing the program, exceeding project completion targets and demonstrating efficient use of obligated funds. Notably, the Field Office achieved a remarkable 107.61% accomplishment across all program modalities, exceeding the set target for completed community Sub-Projects (SPs) in barangays.

“This achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our team and partner communities,” DSWD Caraga Regional Director Mari-Flor A. Dollaga expressed. “We are grateful for the trust placed in us and committed to continuously serving our beneficiaries,” she added.

Key factors contributing to Caraga’s success include the successful utilization of reallocated funds (returned, unutilized funds from other Field Offices) completely disbursed on December 2023. Field Office Caraga stepped up to take charge of the reallocated amount for crucial programs in different modalities, which was utilized for the Cash-For-Work for low income families affected by calamities, especially the recent typhoons and earthquakes that hit the region.

Undeniably, the RPMO KALAHI-CIDSS Caraga workforce showed grace under pressure – strongly delivering the program’s goals and targets even with time being a challenge in the utilization of funds and the completion of projects. The KALAHI-CIDSS “Angels in Red Vests” have shown commitment and dedication which has been beneficial to the served communities in Caraga.

During the Kick-Off Meeting the 2023 accomplishments, and upcoming plans and program updates for 2024 was discussed by KALAHI-CIDSS National Program Manager Atty. Bernadette A. Mapue-Joaquin presentation includes the updates for the 2023 Physical and Financial Accomplishments, Social Preparation Status, Status of the Request for Fund Release (RFR), Community Procurement Status, and the status of Cash-For-Work Continuing Funds. In addition, KALAHI-CIDSS Project Development Officer V Ben Jan Rusby D. Natividad reported the upcoming national initiated pipeline activities for the fiscal year 2024.

Field Office Caraga’s achievement highlights the program’s positive impact on communities in the region. And with the feat achieved by the RPMO, the Field Office remains committed to uplifting lives and promoting Community-Driven Development through the continued effective program implementation of KALAHI-CIDSS.
