Private First Class James Porras from Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur, tragically lost his life during an encounter between lawless elements and the Government of the Philippines Forces in Labangan, Lanao del Sur on February 18, 2024.

In recognition of his sacrifice, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Caraga extended a helping hand to his bereaved family. A cash assistance of 10,000 pesos and two family food packs were provided to the family, with Porras’s mother receiving the aid on their behalf. Moreover, the presidential management staff were present and offered a wreath to convey condolences from the Office of the President.

Agusan del Sur Social Welfare and Development (SWAD) Team Leader Michael Andohuyan, on behalf of Regional Director Mari-Flor Dollaga extended heartfelt condolences and prayers for solace to the grieving family during this difficult time.
