The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga emerges as the over-all champions during the 1st Inter-Agency Sports Festival which culminated at the Department of Agriculture Caraga Covered Court, Butuan City – February 23, 2024.

The Agency’s Volleyball Men’s team secured the Gold, while the Women’s Volleyball Team grabbed Silver. On the other hand, the Field Office also showed dominance in Badminton with Gold in the Women’s Doubles, 2nd place for Mixed Doubles, and 4th place for the Men’s Doubles.

The fun-filled day opened with the Men’s Basketball Team securing 3rd place, leading up to the penultimate games (Volleyball Men and Women), which became crucial for the Field Office to secure the over-all win.

The Agency’s Black Panthers extend their warmest gratitude to the top management for their unwavering support, moreover the players and supporters thank the DSWD Caraga ERPATs (Empowerment and Reaffirmation of Paternal Abilities) who have extended resources to the team.

The 1st Inter-Agency Sports Festival was spearheaded by the Department of Agriculture (DA) Caraga. This initiative is aligned with the Civil Service Commission’s Memorandum Circular No. 38, series of 1992, which encourages the conduct of physical and mental fitness programs for government personnel to achieve long-term health through exercise and related physical fitness activities. Furthermore, the sports fest was an avenue to build camaraderie amongst government employees toward unity.
