Through the ECT post-monitoring, the Department seeks to ascertain the extent of recovery and rebuilding efforts on the beneficiaries’ end and identify emerging needs or challenges for the affected communities.

The post-monitoring activity involves household visits, interviews with the beneficiaries, focus group discussions, and data collection on utilizing cash assistance. ECT was distributed on January 23–31, 2024, a month after the magnitude 7.4 earthquake hit the province of Surigao del Sur.

The said initiative underscores the Agency’s commitment to upholding the welfare of the disaster-affected communities and reaffirms the collaborative efforts in building resilient and empowered communities in the region.
