With the wide and devastating effects of the El Niño phenomenon that affected the entire country, the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. designed and implemented the Presidential Assistance to Farmers, Fisherfolk, and Families (PAFFF) to bring the different government agencies together to extend aid to those severely affected.
With this, 13,880 beneficiaries have been targeted to receive Php10,000 cash assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga today, June 20, 2024. President Marcos led the distribution of the said aid to beneficiaries of Surigao del Sur (Surigao del Sur Sports Complex, Tandag City) and Agusan del Norte (Butuan City Sports Complex). The President was joined by DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian in extending the aid, which is provided through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) Program and the Ayuda sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP) of DSWD.
The Field Office is in full support of the whole-of-nation approach of the administration in addressing current issues and concerns that severely affect the Caraganons. The Field Office is in constant coordination with Local Government Units and National Line Agencies to ensure proper steps in providing the appropriate interventions to the needs of the poor, marginalized, and disadvantaged individuals, families, and communities in Caraga Region.
