Partner beneficiaries of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, through its Project LAWA and BINHI, are now reaping the rewards of their hard work as they continue to harvest the fruits of their labor.
In places like Union, Lingig, Surigao del Sur, and Tigbao, Dinagat Islands, farmers now harvest the literal fruits of their labor—proof that perseverance and hope pay off. These harvests stretch across the provinces of Agusan del Sur and Surigao del Norte, changing lives in barangays like Valentina, Del Carmen, and beyond.
Project LAWA and BINHI, designed to address water access and food security, are making a difference. In disaster-prone areas, these initiatives are more than just projects—they’re a lifeline for those who once struggled to survive. Now, with every crop harvested, these communities reap not just produce but hope for a better future.
From the get-go, these projects have been more than just a program—they’ve become a shared journey for the Agency, local government unit, farmers, local leaders, and families working side by side. In fields that once struggled, you now find a renewed sense of hope as they collaborate to bring life back to their lands and strengthen their livelihoods. Through hands-on workshops in each phase of the implementation and heartfelt conversations, participants have gained skills in sustainable farming, water management, and nutrition.
These aren’t just technical lessons—they are lifelines, spreading from one partner beneficiary to the next, thus creating a ripple effect in transforming entire communities with hope and lasting change.
