The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office Caraga took part in the turn-over ceremony of the ‘Huy-anan nan Bajau sa Surigao’ through the undertaking of “Supporting Blue-Green Recovery, Strengthening Resilience and Promoting Sustainable Growth in Philippine Cities and Communities through Nature-Based Solutions and the Circular Economy Project,” which is being spearheaded by the UN-Habitat on October 7, 2024 in Surigao City.

OIC Assistant Regional Director for Operations Jean Paul Parajes represented the Field Office in the launching of the Localize to Realize (L2R) SDG Project; Joint Project Steering Committee Meeting; and launching of SDG VLR for the Province of Surigao del Norte.

A key highlight of this event is the Turnover of the Model Huy-anan for Sama-Bajau Families previously displaced from Brgy. Canlanipa by the Super Typhoon Odette, last December 2021.
DSWD Field Office Caraga will continue to support UN-Habitat and all its partner agencies in accomplishing its sworn mission to lead and participate in all social welfare innovations for and with the poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged.
