Being a solo parent comes with challenges, but it is also a journey of resilience and gratitude. A stable job provides not only financial security but also a sense of purpose and growth. At DSWD Caraga, work fosters both service and empowerment.

“This job has boosted my self-esteem and given me financial independence,” shares Raxcil F. Tandog, a Social Welfare Aide at the Cantilan Satellite Office. “Because of it, I can support my children and balance my responsibilities through strong management skills.”

She is also grateful for the support she receives from the agency, particularly the benefits that help ease the weight of her responsibilities. “My PhilHealth is now covered, just like my beneficiaries. I also avail of the seven-day solo parent leave every year, which is a big help during family emergencies.”

Through hard work and perseverance, she has learned to navigate the challenges of solo parenting while being a dedicated worker. She encourages all women to stay focused on their goals, no matter their struggles or backgrounds.

“No matter what you go through or what sector you belong to, we can all rise as long as we stay committed to our dreams. Always think positively and be a role model for your children to create a balanced and loving family. Most importantly, never forget to be grateful to God for all blessings, big or small.”

Her story is a reminder that with determination and faith, women can overcome hardships and continue striving for a better tomorrowโ€”for themselves and their families.
