As part of this week’s simultaneous efforts under Project LAWA at BINHI, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga conducted a Turnover Ceremony in Barangays Mabini and Roxas, Mainit, Surigao del Norte, on May 2, 2025.

Among the community-driven interventions turned over were:
- Diversification of water supply systems
- Establishment of communal gardens enhanced with oriental herbal nutrient production
Meanwhile, in Barangay Tinigbasan, Tubay, Agusan del Norte, the Cash-for-Work (CFW) activity under the same project is in full swing, entering its final two days of implementation.
Ongoing projects in Tubay include:
- Aquaculture development
- School-based community gardening
- Communal gardening
- Planting of fruit-bearing trees
These initiatives showcase the multi-pronged strategy of Project LAWA at BINHI, which addresses critical issues of water scarcity and food insecurity through sustainable, community-led solutions.
LAWA at BINHI is a long-term intervention by DSWD Caraga designed to build community resilience, promote sustainable livelihoods, and empower grassroots populations.
