“We are so happy because we can finally see actual crops growing. Even though we haven’t harvested yet, we’re already glad that a project has reached us. Thank you to LAWA and BINHI — not only did you pay us, but the project also became ours!” said Dionisio Caindoy, a partner-beneficiary from Barobo, Surigao del Sur.
“When I saw our project, I was overwhelmed with joy. Because of our work here, we neighbors got to know each other, grew closer, and shared laughs while working. After a day’s work, the joy was immense because the results turned out beautifully. Thank you so much, DSWD, for this opportunity,” said Jonadel Carr, a partner-beneficiary from Basilisa, Province of Dinagat Islands.
LAWA and BINHI, or Local Adaptation to Water Access and Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished, is a project of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga that aims to address the issues of water and food scarcity.
