The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga has mobilized a total of 7,592 family food packs (FFPs) to support communities impacted by the recent eruption of Mt. Kanlaon.
Strategically sourced from the warehouses of Field Office Caraga, these food packs are part of the department’s rapid response initiative to address the immediate needs of disaster-stricken areas. DSWD assures the public that replenishment plans are in place to maintain the availability of FFPs for future emergencies.
As part of the augmentation effort, 4,000 family food packs were delivered to the Bacolod Warehouse on December 22, 2024, while the remaining 3,592 FFPs arrived on December 24, 2024. This swift and coordinated response underscores DSWD’s commitment to ensuring food security and humanitarian aid for vulnerable communities.
With Mt. Kanlaon’s eruption displacing numerous families, the DSWD continues to work tirelessly to deliver timely and adequate assistance, reinforcing its dedication to alleviating the plight of those in need.
