The participation of DSWD Field Office Caraga’s centers and residential care facilities in the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) in a single frame.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga joined the nation in the first quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) earlier today, March 13, 2025.

The drill, which aims to assess the country’s earthquake response capacity, was actively participated in by the Centers and Residential Care Facilities (CRCF) of DSWD Caraga, including the Home for Girls and the Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth (RRCY).

Following the successful execution of the earthquake drill at RRCY, SFO1 Hector O Galeon provided an encouraging assessment.

“Your performance is improving. Although I have noted minor observations, these can be addressed in the next NSED. Overall, I rate it as ‘very satisfactory.’ Congratulations!” he stated, acknowledging the progress made by the RRCY residents and staff.

The NSED is a quarterly initiative led by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) through the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) to strengthen disaster preparedness and response.
