This is the what the members of the Shine St. Christine SLP Association from the town of Lianga, Surigao del Sur said during an interview. Through the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), they were able to establish a copra business that now serves as the primary source of income for their group.

The association began its journey in November of last year, when it received a PHP 450,000.00 livelihood grant from the SLP. They used the grant to set up their copra livelihood project.

They were able to acquire not only a facility but also essential equipment for business operations, including a chainsaw, shovels, weighing scales, a chariot unit used as a delivery vehicle, and more.

In addition, they were given the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills in proper business management—including coconut farming, copra processing, and ensuring product quality. Their dedication and hard work have yielded positive results, benefiting not only their families but also contributing to the local economy of their community.

With the help of SLP, they not only gained a livelihood but also achieved a higher level of self-confidence and a broader perspective on opportunities. This is proof that with determination and the right support, no obstacle is insurmountable, and every dream can become a reality. As they continue to grow their business, they serve as an inspiration to others who are also striving to change their fate and succeed in their own way.
